MGM Vegas Casinos Launch In-House Mobile Slots Games

In a great strategy to bring in Millennials to the casinos in Las Vegas, MGM Resorts has just launched a new way to enjoy the gaming experience. Knowing well that smartphones and mobile devices now rule the attention of the younger crowd, they have just launched mobile slots tournaments that can be played within any of the nine casinos owned by MGM including,

  • ARIA Resort & Casino
  • Bellagio
  • Excalibur
  • Luxor
  • Mandalay Bay
  • MGM Grand
  • Monte Carlo
  • New York-New York
  • The Mirage

All of the locations are ready for players that want to enjoy playing slots games from their mobile device anywhere in the casino, whether they are at the bar, pool, or even night club.

Bringing in the Younger Crowd

The younger gambling crowd was getting fewer and fewer, so one strategy that MGM Resorts is hoping will be a success is their new in-house mobile gaming platform will start to bring back these players. They are starting off with a slots tournament that will be available through mobile devices that are inside any of the nine MGM properties. The way they monitor this is by having people connect to their secure Wi-Fi system, which will allow them to play.

Lovell Walker, executive director of Interactive Gaming Development at MGM Resorts believes this is the future,

“This mobile platform that was just released is going to lay the foundation for what we do in the future. We think that mobile is going to be a major part of gaming. This is the first digital and interactive tournament to be offered by a regulated casino in the United States.”

The mobile gaming idea connects with the fact that more than 50% of business on the Strip are activities off of the casino floor, like the pool and night club to name a few. This is one way to reach those customers that are not actively gambling and deliver a system that is easy and accessible.

More Mobile Casino Applications

MGM stated that this system allows people to,

win thousands of dollars in cash and other prizes by playing in regularly scheduled tournaments of classic casino games including slots, bingo, and video poker as well as fun social, casual and console games.”

They have also started tests on their own playMGM sports betting mobile platform, hoping to get it ready for football season.

Mobile gaming plays a major part in the overall gambling market in the US, and this is one step towards implementing these solutions in casinos throughout Nevada and the United States.
