US casino operator Rush Street Gaming has begun the interview process for hiring of dealers at the soon to be launched Rivers Casino and Resort in Schenectady, New York. Qualified applicants will speak to officials from the casino for a position in the dealer training program.
Dealer School
The dealer school for table games is set to begin October 17 and the poker dealer training will start around a week later on October 24 – although it won’t be held at the casino due to limited floor space. Applicants will have dealer classes in a venue across the street from the casino which is still under construction. These classes will give eligible applicants the required experience to deal at future casino gaming and poker tables at Rivers Casino.
Dealer applications are still being accepted online, and fortunately no previous dealer experience is required, but you will need to be 21 years or older to apply, and there is no guarantee that a job offer will follow even after completion of the dealer training. The positions being filled will pay competitive salaries and are based at the Mohawk Harbor site off Erie Boulevard.
What will the new casino in Schenectady New York look like?
The $330 million casino project will have 50,000-square-feet of floor space and will be home to 1,150 slots including all the player favorites, 66 table games like blackjack, roulette and craps, as well as a poker room featuring 16 poker tables. A hotel will also provide a wonderful experience for casino patrons. There will also be a High Roller section in the casino, and there are plans for a 10,000-square-foot banquet facility housed within the Rivers Casino and Resorts complex.
Mary Cheeks is the general manager of Rivers Casino, and she is encouraging anyone interested in being a casino or poker dealer to apply immediately, as it can build a greater career in the gambling industry. As alluded to on their website, prospective team members can apply online at www.riverscasinoandresort.com/
There are no costs for the dealer training and morning, day and evening classes are being held over the next few weeks. Additionally, any gaming license fees for all employees on the dealer team will be paid by the casino. According to reports, “There has been an overwhelming amount of interest in the job opportunities at The Rivers Casino And Resort.”
